How Parkshot Medical Uses AI

At Parkshot Medical, we use carefully selected Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to support our clinical and administrative work. These tools are now being adopted across the NHS because they can make some processes faster, safer, and more efficient.

AI does not replace clinicians. All decisions about your care are always made by qualified healthcare professionals.

Why We Use AI

We use AI to help:

  • Reduce time spent on repetitive tasks
  • Improve the quality and consistency of information
  • Support clinicians with summarising or organising data
  • Free up staff time to focus on patient care

We only use AI where it has a clear benefit for patients or the practice.

How We Keep AI Safe and Compliant

We follow strict NHS and UK data protection standards to ensure AI is used safely:

Data Protection & Privacy

  • A Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) is completed before any tool goes live.
  • Only the minimum necessary data is used.
  • Patient-identifiable data is never shared with unapproved systems.

Clinical Safety

  • All AI tools undergo an NHS-required clinical safety assessment (DCB0160).
  • Suppliers must meet DCB0129 safety standards, showing their tool is safe for clinical use.

Governance & Oversight

  • We have a formal AI Governance Policy covering approval, staff training, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Staff use an AI Incident Log to report any issues or unexpected behaviour.

Continuous Monitoring

  • AI tools are regularly reviewed for accuracy, security, and fairness.
  • If any concerns arise, we can pause or remove a tool immediately.

Your Care Is Always Human-Led

AI is used only as a support tool.
Your care, your data, and your clinical decisions remain firmly in the hands of trained NHS professionals.

If you have any questions about how we use AI or how your data is protected, please contact the practice.
