NHS Breast Screening Programme Incident. National screening offer to women aged 70-79 years on 01/04/2018 who have missed a Final Screen

Public Health England and NHS England have identified that in some instances women were not being invited for their final breast screen between their 68th and 71st birthday. Public Health England is writing to all women who have been affected by this incident. All women registered with a GP will receive a letter by end of May outlining how they can access the helpline and take up the screening offer if they wish.

All women affected who would like to take up the invitation for a screen will be offered an appointment by the end of October 2018. Women who have not received a letter by the end of May can be reassured they have not been affected by the incident.

For women who want further information;

The Helpline telephone number is  0800 169 2692

New MyGP App

We have initiated Parkshot Medical's brand new Patient Messaging Service.  You can now easily book or cancel GP appointments from your phone, simply download FREE myGP app. Patients aged between 12 and 16 will not be able to access myGP.

Patients wishing to access their medical records or order online prescriptions will still need to register with EMIS Patient Access in the usual way, and those patients without a smart phone will also have to use Patient Access for appointment bookings, as myGP is not avaliable on PC's but only as an app.

  • Only GP appintments are available to book via myGP. Please contact the surgery to book appointments for the Nurses.
  • MyGP app is not suitable to send messages regarding other matters such as prescriptions, referrals, medical records ect.
  • We can also run dedicated "health campaigns" where eligible patients will be sent text reminders and will also be offered the opportunity to book specific clinic appointment slots online on their phone. We will shortly be trialling this for our seasonal flu campaign.

Advice regarding MyGP App

Our new online booking app called “MyGP” is proving very popular with patients and we are getting great feedback about the ease of use and also the routine booking options, which are available for up to 3 weeks in advance with every GP.

There are only two types of appointments “Face to face at the surgery and Telephone” . Some patients have booked the latter in error, and have arrived at the surgery for their appointment. We know that when the confirmation for this booking is received it does NOT state that it is a telephone appointment.

Unfortunately, we have no control over the App itself, and although we have asked the company managing the App (iPlato) to rectify this, they cannot make changes at this time.
